Fashion Souk Accra
IHEKUBI ‘TOUCHES DOWN’ ACCRA! The prestigious Palms Convention Center (La Palm Royal Hotel), in the vibrant city of Accra recently played host to the inaugural Fashion Souk Global (FSG)– a two-day showcase that celebrated some of the best in African fashion, beauty, and culinary arts. Held on March 8th and 9th, 2025 -Hello International Women’s Day! This event marked a significant milestone in bridging the gap between a collective of African businesses, and their continental market. The FSG transformed the venue into a bustling marketplace, featuring over 90 exhibitors, and attendees were treated to a diverse array of African-inspired designs, innovative beauty products, and culinary delights. The event provided a unique platform for designers, artisans, and entrepreneurs to connect with a broad audience, fostering networking opportunities and brand exposure.
IHEKUBI’s Exhibition Among the standout showcases was yours truly- IHEKUBI Lagos, with our curated drop of 6 designs, featuring new updates, colourways and fresh detailing. There was definitely massive comments about the uniqueness of the designs, and positive attention to most, (though not limited to): The Kairo Kimono The Kairo Set https://ihekubi.com/product/kairo-set-with-shorts/ The IYE Blouse The NALA Dress https://ihekubi.com/product/nala-midi-dress/ The OHUN Dress https://ihekubi.com/product/ohun-dress/ The (new look) Habanero Set The intricate craftsmanship and storytelling woven into each design and fabric print (spot our new ‘RETHINK’ logo); resonated deeply with visitors, highlighting the brand’s commitment to preserving and innovating without discarding African fashion traditions. Another unexpected highlight was definitely seeing our younger fashion lovers put their own spin on the IYE blouse design, by mostly opting for 2-3 times larger sizes, for that oversized appeal– talk about spotting a trend!
Looking Ahead- The success of Fashion Souk Global’s debut in Accra underscores the city’s status as a burgeoning hub for fashion, creativity and holiday travels; as such we cannot wait to be back with more pop-up events within the year.
